Rev3 Turbo - Catalytic Converter Alternative

Anyone know what the "cells per square inch" CPSI are in the standard catalytic converter on the rev3 turbo?

I have an after market downpipe which would be a pain to remove/refit for MOT but new legislation insists. Fortunately I have a Fujitsubo rear box that needs a mid section made for it and looking at fitting one of these in it provided dimensions are right

Not quite the answer to your question, but rather an alternative:

I'm currently facing the same problem. Instead of getting something made I've been thinking of this as a fairly easy solution (which can also be more easily removed/replaced if necessary):

The rumormill has said that these good enough to pass emissions but of course that does depend on the rest of the car too..

There is not just one correct answer. Would also depend on size and location in the system.

The downpipe mmk suggests is an easy, proven solution.

Thanks for feedback guys. The xspower downpipe is an option but I would rather leave that as a last resort.

Peter, do you think with a 100/200 CPSI cat fitted in the mid-section of the exhaust and adjusting the fueling it will be possible to get through the emissions test?

100 cell cats, are AFAIK, the standard when high-flow cats are required. One in the B pipe should work, but i've never tried it. Leaning out the mixture will most likely upset lambda, which is also a fail, so leave stock mixture alone.

My old car passed mot with one of those sard copies on was a P reg. Although I sold the rear clip to someone else here with it. Dunno if hes still using it tho.

205cc, arc box, fujitsubo exhaust and a blitz ebc on std ecu.

One thing was the exhaust didnt fit as nicely compared to my old berk downpipe.

I've had one of these on order for quite a few weeks now. They're out of stock but should be getting more in about a week. Not holding my breath.

I've also got one of these on order.
Heard no contact from xspower since ordering when they stated they were waiting for stock to come in.
Their website doesnt even work anymore either so I think I'm gonna have to claim my money back through paypal

Excuse the noob question/statement but

When does this legislation come into effect? Got a link for details?

I have to put a cat on my N/A for it to get through, now I hope they're not changing the benchmarks for that!

Also - I thought that tubbys were exempt from emissions test because there is no equivalent UK spec to check the levels with. An ESVA test or something... or was that for cars less than ten years old...

I wonder if these sorts of changes will eventually affect all of us with newer (96+) old cars.
