What would you like imported?

Post by KarlBristol »

I'm toying with the idea of regularly importing rare parts and accessories from Japan, and have already set up all the relevant contacts which I use for myself.

Due to all of the taxes, commissions etc... its not a cheap option but is great for getting hold of bits and bobs that you can't over here. Initially I am thinking of parts wingmirror size and under (due to shipping costs)...

Question is would you buy Jap imported pieces?
What sort of things would you be looking for?

Is there a demand for this? :-k

Any input would be appreciated

Good idea Karl!

Not in the market for anything myself, but could be a wealth of rare jdm parts on the horizon if this happens!

Nice idea :thumleft:

Thanks mate

I think there is a limited market for it due to the prices, but it would definitely be a good way to get some decent parts to our members on here especially as the market seems to be flooding more and more with eBay Chinese tat

I've already sourced parts such as wind deflectors, ETCs, Ganador mirrors etc...

I'm thinking it might be better for people to contact me with requests that I then try and source as opposed to buying parts to sell on. I think the cash outlay for the second option would have to be quite significant (although there may of course always be a few random purchases )
Views on that way of running things?

I've just ordered this to work out the exact banking, shipping, handling and commission costs...

Something a bit different though

If you can get enough of an order together pallets is the best way to ship. I send TNT to fetch me stuff from the US on pallets and its £700-£800 ish for 1 pallet and just over a grand for 4 pallets that weigh nearly 1 ton a piece. They can also do all your customs and duty stuff for you.
