[Mk2] [NA] Reprogramme Central Locking

Post by Bubba »

Changed the Clutch Master and Slave Cylinder and in the process my mate left the door open which drained the battery. had to take it out and charge it up and it seems to be fine now.

When i got in the car last night again and started the engine the doors locked automatically which aint so bad as i lock them anyway, car locked up fine aswell once i parked it at the house. This smorning when i went out the car opened as normal but when i parked at work it wouldnt lock again. When i press the lock button the indicators flash and the alarm sets but both doors do not lock. I opened the door and the alarm triggered but once i pressed the unlock button again the alarm went off as it should.

I had to lock the doors from inside the car and then set the alarm. I didnt try reopening with the fob either. Is there a way to reprogramme the fob again?

Ive had a look through the site and other threads are different problems with central locking

Thanks

Crystal ball is on the blink tonight...

Model? Revision? UK/JDM? Factory alarm and fob or aftermarket?

Checked the fuses under the steering wheel and it allowed me to lock the car for a short period of time but now its locking sometimes but mostly not locking.

Started to lock once i press the open button also ... so i press it and it opens and locks straight away .. but wont lock when i press the lock button. hope that makes sense.

checked both fobs and they are both doing the same thing.

also it has started to lock and unlock while driving ... was planning on following a guide i found for reprogramming the fob and ecu together.

Still no reply :(

Ive noticed a leak coming from the drivers side sun visor so im thinking that maybe the extrator canals for the sunroof mit be blocked and causing this. How ever if the water was running down the pillar do you think this could be whats affecting the central locking? as i know a fuse box is down in that direction.

When i have the heating on full towards the floor for a while the central locking will lock as i drive along. i plan on fixing the sun roof canal problem this weekend. and hopefully then i can get things dried out and see if it works.

This problem only came along after i changed the master and slave cyclinder and i oringally thought it was because the battery was disconnected but if only just relised this leak was present after drips ran down the inside of my window lol
