Help getting into boot after putting it in Valet mode :(

Post by timlowthian »

Need some help if possible.

After not thinking about it i turned my boot lock on my Rev 3 to the left putting it in the valet mode.

Problem is i have tried both my keys and now cannot open the thing again :(

Does anyone have any tips? Can you open it from the engine bay or anything or am i going to have to use force?

I've done this once and managed to get in just with a bit of spray grease and jiggling the key in the lock.

i did the same, spent hours wiggling the key with tons of wd40 and eventually got it too click back open, i then stripped down the lock barrel and removed the parts that were getting stuck and just put it back together without the catching teeth.

Just got into it using lots of spray grease and wigling of the key! Thanks for the help! Going to make sure I stick with the pulled inside from now on.

A lesson learned there Tim, I am going to do this when I have a spare hour as it seems to be a common problem and I bet it happens when you need to get to the boot most.

Thanks for the solution guys.
