Thought I out to put a bit of info up about my tubby .

Fresh import 46500km
Bits it came with.
SSR 16" allys, side skirts, Blitz BOV, , Greedy boost gauge and turbo timer,
Oil, water temp gauges, oil pressure gauge , Blitz exhaust and just found out today its got bilstein suspension too ,Bonus :D

So far not done that much.
Full service , cambelt , water pump etc . Fitted some osram night breaker bulbs as the headlights were feeble.
Made a gear knob in titanium and fitted a set of leather seats (Big thanks to Redrummo / Michael for the seats and an awesome job of wrapping them for the courier 8) )

Jobs to do ,
Sort a stereo out as mines crap and only gets 2 channels, replace all the speakers as they are crap too .
Fit a mph converter / delimiter, Move the gauges from on top of the dash to the gap that will be spare when I fit a single din stereo, Put a Toyota badge back on the front bumper and look for a new set of wheels or get some spacers for the back as they look a bit lost with the side skirts.

Might look into some power mods for the future but Ive only driven 100 miles in it so far so that will be a summer thing when I have got used to the power it already has .

Cheers Red.
No rust yet but I`m sure our weather will soon sort that out. Might get it wax oiled before that happens though.

I would defo go down the wax oiled route. Also, a common thing on MR2's, is there is like a sound deadening sponge that is behind the rear seat belt/speaker covers that absorbs water and rusts the sill from the inside out.

Best to remove that sponge and properly seal the arches.

That looks nasty :( I`ll get the panels ripped off tomorrow and check for foam . I did read about a good internal rust proof spray on here somewhere but can`t remember what it was . Any idea?

My MR2 is the same colour as yours, and my inner sills are in that thread. I'm just going to remove the loose rust scraps and thickly brush some green rust proofing/treating hammerite down there. Doesn't have to look pretty

I`m going to make it a priority to check every nook and cranny asap ;) The bottom of the frunk is a bit marked and scratched from the jack so I`ll probably paint that with a good coat of hammerite and owt else I can find before the rust worm sets in .

Yeah, I need to go round mine like that. Also, another place to check is, whip the boot carpet out, and in each corner, by the bumper ventilation ducts, they rust around the seams down there. Just another place to pay attention to :thumleft:

Plenty of work to keep me busy then . Off to the motor factors for a shed load of rust proofer, and paint tomorrow

If I find the perfect excuse I`ll let you know ;) Could do with a good exchange rate to help swing it .

Please do, because I've run out of excuses

My ideal car would be a 1999 Black Rev5 Turbo T-Bar. =P~

They are defiantly brighter than whatever was in already . Still think the lighting is crap though compared to more modern cars .
Dip still doesn`t light up much of the road but a worth while improvement for less than £15.
