newbie on the mr2 world

Post by bigst3v3_x »

hello all. i have recently bought a rev1 (j reg) mr2 turbo tintop with 60k on it.

im new to this so was just going ask if 1200 pound was a god deal or overpriced?

also im looking at buying bits for it. i have a gt4 breaking at the moment and i was wondering if any of the bits would be free upgrades as they are both 3sgte engines.

any feedback and help would be amazing

kind regards

steve

Sounds about right price. Depending on what the rest of the car is like.

Is it a 185 if so yes the parts should be swap straight over

Hello fella and welcome to both the club and to ownership. They're great cars. Enjoy.

as long as it looks well, just check they rear of the sills and the rear arches for rot as they like to go there. Sounds a good price to me and being a tin top you wont need to worry about all the leaking issues that come with a t-bar :thumleft:

I would swap the whole engine if its from the 205 although you will either have to either

Find REV3 MR2 ECU
Fit charger cooler and the 205 ECU
Mod the wiring to fool the 205 ECU to think the charge cooler is fitted
