Shes all mine! (well will be) I managed to find somewhere for it to live for abit. (undercover)

Better news than that is... I managed to get it for just £500 and also... He didn't realise but the MOT is till JULY 2013!

Thankfully he spotted that AFTER we agreed the price... haha!

Very happy indeed!

Great news, sounds like a potential Bargain!

Get some photos up pretty quick of all the usual areas and lets see if the last 3 years have been cruel or kind?

true but with that in mind theres plenty of help for the conversion, and they are cheap enough to buy as a mk2 - use the engine/box/ecu/ ds etc that you need and sell the rest on, the donor parts will end up costing next to nothing

Had a proper good look today and (unfortunatly) found out afew things about the car which he failed to mention before.

1, The car doesn't lock AT ALL.... great... the locks are all there and everything but when you put the key in it wont lock... I can't remember from my old mark 1 B but are these central locking? If so... sounds expensive to fix??

2, There appears to be rusty water coming into the car under the left side of dash...

3, Engine bay lid wont open without a fight...

Heres a mountain of pictures....

The rusty water coming in and the fact it doesn't lock has really put me off... it sounds expensive... :(

good points are:

Had head gasket done and head skimmed + new mot last July (have all receipts for this)
Engine runs well.
Fairly rust free.
Only 81k miles.
Rare color
Mark 1 A

Bad points:

Rusty water coming in from the front dash.
Clutch slips when you give it the beans.
Doesn't lock.

Your thoughts? still worth a punt at £500? Or should i walk away? #-o :|

Rusty water coming into car may be caused by this Ridge

Not too difficult to seal it off

Need to remove the heater blower to get at it
