Got my MR2

Post by Nick »

My Mr2 turbo turned up yesterday :) Dealer dropped it off about tea time so now I`m a proper member of IMOC :)

Heres a picture the dealer took before I collected it .

Image

Got registered on an N plate . last 3 letters on the number plate are FK U

Its got a blitz exhaust , not a stainless one so dunno if its good or not . Not that loud. Blitz dump valve , loads of gauges inside , a strut brace on the front and 16" allys

Couple of jobs need doing , needs a new flexi pipe, its been bound with tape . Interior light doesnt come on when you open the doors, wiring for the extra gauges wants re routing, need an alarm to get it insured, Got some leather seats coming next week and I`m going to get it serviced and fit a cam belt asap.

Cheers Alan :)
Are autopista skirts good then ? They look alright.
Just reminded me I also need a clip for the back of the skirt on the passenger side . Ones missing by the back wheel. Any idea where to get clips from ?

Congratulations looks like a nice clean example :thumleft:

The interior light problem maybe caused by a sticking switch in the door jam.

Do you have a pic of the exhaust AFAIK all Blitz exhausts were stainless steel?

Fair play, straight off the boat I assume? (the car)
If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.

I'll get some pics of the exhaust ASAP . It says blitz on the tail pipe which looks stainless . rest of it looks like mild to me.
Car is down the garage getting a service and cambelt etc . Didn't know the state of the antifreeze and the cold weekend had me worried .
It's very dark green 59 ;).
yes charged , straight off the boat . Looks like new underneath :)

I'll get some proper pictures taken as soon as it comes back from the garage

Very nice mate! Get it wax-oyled to preserve it :thumleft:

Exhaust will be a Blitz Nur spec, if it is, it'll say "Blitz Nur Spec-R" on tailpipe.

Enjoy the car, it looks sweet

It just says Blitz and nothing else.

I thought about it but like em orange . I ran an import jeep with orange side lights for years and had no bother off the old bill .
If I do change them I might go black.

They should technically fail a UK MOT, as sidelights have to be white, not orange.

Depends on MOT tester I guess.

I got the dealer to stick a fog light on with double sided tape. Got to ask the mot man but I reckon one of the reverse lights would make a good position for a fog light . Just not sure if its far toughen outboard ?? Not a worry till next years mot though :)

My jeep got tested at several different mot places and none mentioned it . Just have to see how it goes :)

Nah, leave reverse lights as reverse lights, and use relays or diodes for the 4 tail/brake inners as fogs look using 2 additional dual filament bulb holders :)
