Greetings IMOC!!

Post by 59sw20 »

Nice to meet you all!
Owning an SW20 has been my dream since my college days, when I was too poor and a bit young. Finally I got mine when my 92 GT-S reached its 20th birthday in July this year, to be qualified as a "classic car" by definition, and exempt from emissions and noise tests before it can officially first registered in Hongkong. This GT-S is from Hokkiado, so don't be surprised to see those winter tires on the stock 15"s in the picture. And yeah, a bit of ugly rust on the underbody. I'm in the progress of converting the outlook back to it's original shape. Well, not many items to go. :D

Hello there fella and welcome. Really enjoyed my time in Hong Kong but that's more than a decade ago now. Congrats on the 2. Nice to get new wheels especially when long cherished. I've had my 23 year old rev1 for 13.5 years. Great cars.

I hope you enjoy it.

R.

PS. Get some pics up ... loads of mine in my garage. Welcome again.

Right! but I have trouble posting pics here... :? I have uploaded an avatar and one shot of the whole car. Do I need to have more posts before I can do that?

Welcome to the club!

Yeah, you need a minimum of 15 posts before posting pics or links, it was a fix implemented to stop spammers signing up and posting rubbish and/or porn.

haha! Thanks. It's beautiful here (in not many ways!) For sure, it is NOT beautiful AT ALL regarding driving and owning a car. Roads are slow and jammed with lots of cars. No wonder the government here discourage people owing any cars. Crazy tax on gas, on import, on renewing license, on insurance... Want us to take buses? HK maybe the biggest market for Dennis etc. in the world. Those 12m monsters are piling up in the road. Do they take up more space, or do MR2s take up more space on the road? hhaa

Well... but it's truly beautiful when we want to order and ship goodies from Japan, although we are not being favored by the exchange rate these days. We got tonnes of agents that do apparently anything, so we can just sit in front of a computer and pay, and then the new toys arrive :D

Thanks guys! :D
Just had the stock exhaust put back yesterday. It feels like a different car in a couple of ways... the sound, the power, the boost, and the look! I like dual tips much better than the common single sided
Havne't got a nice shot done yet. Will post more when
1. weather gets good
2. a nice shampoo
