Nero_slk MR2 GTS Rev2

Post by Nero_slk »

Hello,
Im Dimitry, 22 yo, from Southampton, after wanting to try out the MR2 for a while I've finally got one on 13.11.2012 :)
Since im a BIG fan of cars, I fancy trying out something different every now and then (10 cars in a year lol :D ), so after owning my bmw 328 coupe with a huge mod list for half a year, ive decided its time for a change, and swapped it with one of the members on the forum :)
Its a 1992 Black Import Rev 2 model , that came to me like this:

Mod list for now is:
R17 alloys with 235 on the back and 205 on the front (and big spacers on the back)
Blitz ECU (with HKS fuel cut off?)
Different ignition leads with individual grounding
K&N inbox filter (have a cone one, with K&N AFM, tho it looks very dirty and I've heard cone ones are not that good for mr2?)
Bigger intercooler
Decat (dont know the brand, but isint too loud and sounds amazing)
Forge BOV
Had DYNO at 251bhp 267lb torque (thats without intercooler, leads, filter) so now it should be 260+bhp
MOMO steering wheel
HKS turbo timer

Having it for a few days ive decided it needs new alloys, different lights, different sound system setup ,different gear knob , and some tidying up...
So I removed the stickers, changed the gear knob from momo to one from a RX8 (feels amazing) , and got a new leather gater for it since old one has seen better days.
After that got some clear corner lights from TopGun - who was very friendly and invited me over.. Seen some inspiring MR2's ,specially the purple TRD :))) and with some help installed the clear front corners.

Felt that i want taillights and i want them now- i had to have this amazing set from Gaz (Cheers buddy!) - clear corners and rev3 lights with carbon fibre centre peace!!!!!

ordered BLITZ gauges for oil temp/pressure and exhaust temp (have no idea how to wire them up yet, and think i want them on the piller)
Very happy with the car looks atm, tho had 2 very minor problems which kept me away from driving it for a few days :( 1st was - one of the exhaust snapped on the weld between pipe and muffler -was thinking to just buy a new one, but realized that i like it too much , and the sound is amazing so took it to a garage and had it fixed.. and other problem happened to me when i just came back after my fix all happy- the small spring in the Forge bov has snapped and prevented it to close in time, so the car had rough idle and kept dying not in gear... phoned up customer service to find out how long it will take to receive the spring - when they told me they are going to send out one free of charge , and should arrive tomorrow morning!!! very pleased!!!

Thats about it, looking forward on making it look even better (time to start searching for some nice alloys and suspension)

Looks very nice mate the rear lights are a big improvement! Not sure on the `lazy` front light look though, hiding half your headlamps? Is it modded to do that or did you just turn your engine off/flick the light stalk switch before they closed properly? If they are `lazy modded I`d switch those out for a set of Rogue quads or at least go back to stock (personal opinion, not sure what the deal is with M.O.T either with those lazy mods).

no worries mate, its a clever lazy ;) its called hangover mod , so if you dont drink you dont get it :D
basically there's a button that stops them to move when you switch them on, so just push it after and it goes up by how long you hold on it, can just switch off and they will be fully open :P
