Rocker box gasket N/A

Post by Canopus »

For some time I have been losing a little oil and it's dripping onto the alternator so I need to fix it. Also getting some oil in the plug holes.

Question is how, as with the N/A it seems like I have to split the inlet manifold to get at some of the screws. It's probably those that are leaking anyway but I can't see how to reach them with the inlet manifold on.

Do I really have to split the manifold or do I have to take the whole lot off in one go? If so how difficult is this job?

Thanks

Remove inlet plenum from throttle body and inlet manifold. Unplug some plugs, pipes and hoses. Depending on Revsion, you might have to shift the engine loom out of the way when removing cam cover.

You'll need two cam cover gaskets and 10 button washers under the cam cover bolts.

Do not forget to place a blob of quality silicone sealant in the 6 corners where the cam bearing caprs join the cylinder head.

Tighten down the 3 centre bolts before the outer bolts else you'll risk snapping off a tab where the bolts pass through the cam cover.
