I'm back in the gang! Picked this up today (",)

Post by rowey200 »

After the rather sad demise of my much loved Rev 4 N/A, and a brief fling with a E36 BMW Coupe (soon to be up for sale), I am glad to report that I saw the light and picked this up today! It's a late Rev 5 N/A in black with a few mods, some to stay, some to go. Mechanically sound, just a few cosmetic bits to sort out. Feels so good to be back in an MR2...what do we think peeps?! 8)

very smart mate, i think Mr2's are fine in standard form, all except the massive number plate holder, take that off and put the bare plate on the bumper!!

job done :thumleft:

Thanks peeps :D

I like the wheels, but will need to address the rears, perhaps space them a little, as they look a little lost in the arches. Plenty of bits to sort out over time, just glad that I have found (what appears to be) a straight Rev 5 :thumleft:

Thought i'd post up a quick update Progress has not been great (winter weather + no garage), but I think I have got the MR2 looking a bit sharper since I purchased it back in early Nov.

The first thing I did was give the old girl a proper clean inside and out. It has come up pretty good me thinks, and the clay bar has not even been out yet! Other bits i've done:

- Fitted a set of correctly staggered Oz Superlegga wheels
- Fitted a set of Apex sports springs (approx. 30mm drop)
- Carried out oil service etc
- Cleaned up brake calipers to cure squeaky brakes & got rid of awful white painted calipers.
- Fitted some new door speakers.

Hoping to get a few more bits done before I go back to work after Christmas including curing the leaky T-Bar seals. I'm also not sure about the back-box tailpipes, might get something else fabricated down the line.

Absolutely love being back behind the wheel of an MR2 - comments welcome, good & bad

Anyways, some pics :D

Cheers mate :thumleft:

I had just put the wheels on the car when I took the above pics, so they are looking super bright (thanks to a days cleaning & polishing) - they are suitably covered in brake dust and dirt now  The grey of the old wheels did look quite cool, but seems a shame to spoil the original finish of the new wheels.....going to stick with the silver for the mo :thumleft:
