Panels

Post by halflife »

Hi all.

Not been on here for ages. My mk1 is looking a bit worse for wear having been sat on my dads drive for 18 months. Spent 600 getting her welded for the MOT with a view to getting rid. Trouble is, I walk past her every morning on the drive and I just cannot bring myself to sell her, I have replaced the engine (DTW engineering unit), changed all the suspension, powder coated all the bits and pieces underneath and I just cannot bring myself to let some boy race have her for pennies.

So that's it, decision made, I'm going to spend some more money to bring her back to her former glory.

I have someone linned up to do the welding and also a full resprayed but I am looking for some advice on the best place to buy pannels.

I need sills, arches wings

Done the usual google search and there are a couple of sources out there but you do not know how good they are going to be until you receive them so I thought I would ask you guys and girls if you had any recommendations.

Quality more important than price but I'm not minted so everything has a limit.

Thank you

Toyota for wings, sills and repair panels via the mk1 mr2 club
If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.

anyone recently bought genuine front wings from Toyota? I was wondering how much they are. I see a breaker is doing them for £125 each new but presumably he's putting his markup on that price.

Phone your local toyota dealer, from what I have heard their price shouldn't be much different to the breakers price, possibly cheaper if you push them hard ask for trade discount, tell them you are a club member etc. I know cabby got a pair recently from his local dealer for less than that breaker sells them for.

New front wings are £98 for uk wings or £88 for american spec wings plus VAT. If you twist their arms you should be able to get 10% discount. As for panels the ebay ones arn't to bad i've just put some sill and rear of the rear 1/4 panel in the white 2 I bought

using the marker lights as repeaters as I don't like the look of the light in the middle of the wing
