[All] [Generic] Am I being stupid

Post by blue2 »

As the title says....Has anyone ever used one of these from halfords??

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... 65580#tab1

Basically the whole top unscrews to reveal the touch up brush. But the see through plastic top looks like it has a pen inside (the red nib) But the plasic cap wont unscrew its stuck fast. Is there a pen in there or just the brush?? By the way im not painting anything gold on my car, its just the link!

On a sidenote, if you give halfords your car paint code, they premix one of these for 1.99 in store. Not bad.

I've got a couple here that were in the boot of the car when I got it - the top clear bit pulls straight off to reveal a needle-tip. which you can squeeze to get paint through.

Personally I used the brush for convenience, but then I was touching up quite a large area when I used it.

Yes I have a few of them. Forget about the pen nib though -it's useless. Just use the brush but it's very fine and a fine line between too much and too little. Before pulling the brush out I always rotate the body of it all the way down the shank otherwise you end up with a big splurge of paint on the very fine brush.

They're better than nothing tough -I use a stanley blade or tip of a warding file if there's any rust on paint chips to take back to bare metal, then apply a primer then top coat -better than nothing.

I always pick up a paint chip stick whenver I get a car, at least close is better than rust spots.

Thanks i figured it out but when the top came off it left the nib stuck. The brush is much better. I had 3 fairly deep scratches that are now invisible. A cheap fix for £1.99!!
