Which Hi-Spec brakes for me car?

Right, now engine should be at the stage for being sorted, i'm gonna be after a brake upgrade.

Think i'll be going for hi-spec 4 pots, but which ones?
Which bits do i need & how much?
Or any other manufacturers/kits you can think of, with prices too if possible?

I'd be a bit wary of Hi-Spec. The Evo forums had a big thread on them a while back, they weren't too impressed (IIRC somethingg about discs warping). Their HQ is around the corner from where I work, ordered some brake hoses for steve's MR2 from them which took much longer than they said they would to come in.

The brakes look brilliant, having seen them in the flesh i was tempted for mine but just a bit worried having heard some dodgy reports, and bad after sales service.

AP racing are around the corner from me. Am hoping they'll be making a floating brake setup for my car. This won't happen till atleast the summer though.

I thought people can you most brake caplier, but only need to make bracket up for it, but very limited number of company make full kit for MK2 ??

Greddy only does a front kit for the MR2.

Movit also makes a really good kit for the MR2.

Don't forget the rear brakes as on a mid-engined car they do quite a bit of the braking. Putting bigger discs on just the front will upset the bias.

Right dude i went for the 330mm disk upgrade as you know and the kit gives you everything you need to fit em and it a doddle!!

hold fire steve i am working on a big brake kit right now, so far fronts are looking like 330mm x 30mm disc with 4 pot alloy calipers............... sooming soon @ www.gtschris.com !

my mates got wilwoods on his pular and they are well cool. top brakes. don't know if you can get em for a 2?

We have supplied Hi-Spec for a while now, and they are a bit pants for picking up the phone, although better than they used to be, and the kits are made to order, so ETA's can be optimistic, although again, this is much better recently. The brakes them selves are a work of art. We have got them on everything for MR2's to Dax Rushes with 0-60 times of 3.4 seconds, and they never fail to impress and we have NEVER had a warranty return ... ever. (touching wood now of course!)

I have them and they are great. Top piece of kit. Good few on here have them and I have yet to hear of any problems.
