Thank-you, that it is very good of you to lend a hand. You are just down the road from me aswell. I remember you offered help with the abv mod on my SC a while ago. I will keep you all updated on my progress with obtaining an engine and arrange a suitable weekend for us to fit it. I don't have any experience with engine swaps but i have a haynes manual, a socket set and am keen to learn! Cheers everyone.

Its not the same unless someone drops a spanner in my face.

Though you didn't have the decency to pour petrol onto my face first to cushion the blow like Limey did!

Well, its was up for sale on here and ebay before the HG went. I thought it was the best thing just to sell it off cheap but now i have been offered help to fix it i would love to save it. However, if someone offered the asking price, they can have it as it is. If not then i will be very much looking forward to fixing and keeping this mk1.

I hope the guy who bought it will repair the wee beasty, seeing good ones go to breakers is always disheartening.

Yes it has. The guy who bought it is going to repair it, then return it to factory standard. I wouldn't have felt comfortable selling it to a breaker, its far too good for that. I will no doubt buy another mk1 soon!

He's not on here but i told him about the forum. He did not reckon much on the SC lights and did not know they were non standard, just wanted the standard ones so you could probably get them as a swap for the originals. Same with the wheels. Look out for a new member with a white mk1 from Beaulieu.
