Japspeed exhaust aaarrghh !!!!

Picked up Rev3 turbo with Japspeed exhaust- wayyyyy too boomy. What can I do ? fit exhaust bungs ? Would a mongoose back box do the trick (can I buy just the box) ..... TIA

I know a guy that had a japspeed exhaust with bungs, still loud but does take the edge off. a mongoose is a lot quieter, you can buy just a backbox, if its standard pipe work from the back box onwards, should just go straight on I think. will have to check if it has a japspeed decat pipe and if it makes a difference.

We fitted a Japspeed recently. While it's quite acceptable at cruising, it gets very boomy on deceleration. I've seen people on here really rate an exhaust called a Legalis R. Possibly worth looking out for one?

Take it off and batter the thing to death, those Japspeed exhausts are dreadful

Anything will be quieter than that, except Apexi N1 or Blitz Nur. If you wanted to stay twin exit, the Fujitsbo Leg R is very quiet, but try finding one, same can be said for the Phoenix Power Departure 2, lovely looking silencers, really beef the back end up, and a lot quieter than the Japspeed. The Berk or HKS superdragger are other nice twin exits but can be hard to find

I use the bungs in my japspeed when doing long distant drives, take them off when otherwise, they are too loud but I love the rumble.

The bungs do make a big difference.

The japspeed exhausts are like marmite, you either love it or hate it. I love mine but then again mine isn't a daily and covers very little mileage!

Previous owner fitted it a few months before he sold it .... did the whole decat pipework.

Pity there isint an exhaust with an inline valve which opens under pressure /acceleration for a bit of noise but is otherwise a burble.

Will a mongoose back box fit into the Japspeed pipework ?

Anyone got a mongoose for sale ?

If your looking for a quiter exhaust I wouldnt bother with the mongoose.

Isn't the Blueflame a quieter "mongoose type" exhaust? Heard good reports about them.

Blueflame and mongoose are essentially the same (used to be same company) but the Mongoose has straight tips whereas the blueflame are angled.

I'd say if anything the mongoose would be quiter than a blueflame as my dad has blueflame de-cated on his and it's fairly unsocialable

I use mine as a daily drive with standard cat'd exhaust with an apexi induction, nice and quite when your going steady but screams if your going for it through the gears
