Anyway, there is a lot to do still and a lot done but i'll be concise here.

1991 Rev1 MR2 Turbo

Currently undergoing heavy mechanical mods, engine, box, suspension etc and light cosmetic mods including a full respray

I'll include a rew recent pictures for you to look at and see where i'm going.

bit more detail.

Engine is currently being built up with fully forged internals and an overbore to 2.1, tubular manifold and RMR inlet manifold, ported/polished and cammed cylinder head, Garrett GT30 turbo, Skyline R33 intercooler, aeroquip'd fuel system, oil system and breather system.

Gearbox is a later Rev3 box with the 2 way TRD LSD.

Wheels are 2 sets

Fronts run 185/35/17
Rears 215/35/18

So interior

Engine bay

and what i can only assume is 100Yen i found under the carpets

Marginal Progress.

Tbar seals stripped off,

Headlining out

Pillar trims out

Dashboard out

The start of an idea that will either see me really happy or looking for a new dashboard

Standard Tunnel loom,

Lightened loom to what i actually need

Well my little dash idea worked out i think.

I used the newly-made holes to mount the gauges through the dash, rather than the intended top mount

this also had the advantage of dropping the gauges down a little

and started sanding the main body ready for paint.

trying to get rid of old respray lines etc

Stupid drift dent

carried on with the sanding

o/s/r pillar

roof

threw some filler in the drift dent

sanded the n/s quarter and pillar more

got some glass removal specialists out, they soon hated me for giving them this job.

Windows out

Threw some filler primer on the n/s/r to check levels, and threw some more filler on.

Took the drill and wire wheel to the remaining bonding on the window seals.

Cut the rust from the n/s boot corner

still working late into the night

Filler primer sanded back and filler sanded back

quick rest while waiting for some filler to set

sanding filler while trying to retain swage line

reprimed and more filler

while this was setting i decided to remove the front foglamps that were siezed on.

and wound them out with pliers

leaving the front properly stripped

cleaned out the boot

Sanded back the filler again.

time number.

yep, i'm a xxxxx for making the dent originally

Sanded back the filler again and re-primed, still not perfect but close now

quick coat of primer on the roof ready to flat back

Coat 1 of white

inner arches

Standard black sill painted in with white, hopefully make the car look a little lower

obviously still a lot of painting left to do but getting closer

and a quick check of my colour scheme

Needs at least another 3 coats on the entire car, and then flatting back and buffing.

with no paint i decided to make up the oil coller mount.

Then i went and got some more paint today so cracked on.

Blasted in the frontal boot area bonnet thingy bit

and the engine bay

and boot

then gave the entire shell another 2 coats

and gave the o/s/f wing a couple of coats

and got called a pikey for my adjustable hanger system

Can slowly start building the main shell up now which is a quite satisfying bit

front boot/bonnet/not engine bay

Boot and engine bay

Back end with wheel

buffed up the quarter, not too bad for a garage job

and tucked in at bed

Done a bit more today,

Got the rear wiring in and routed inside the panels

tucked accesibly but out of the way.

all the fuel line bulkhead fittings in and tightened, loom in, Cooler in and mounted.

any access holes trimmed

coolant pipes in and radiator in and connected.

bumper bar and mount brace mounted up

really dispondant with the paint atm but i might give another go at flatting soon.

But it's white, apart from where the carpet is going

also got the bootlid and door in a fresh coat of paint.

decided to maintain some of the history of the car, so masked up the inside of the filler flap

and some random car-whoring photos

Hit a slight snag now as my compressor has deceased today but hopefully sort that very soon and carry on.

Not been a great deal of progress really as i've been busy with other things,

Came away with some leather seats that are pretty tatty

and mint condition matching door cards

along with the later model revised tweeter covers, that allow better tweeters to be fitted along with being better at sound transfer

also got this genuine Toyota CD changer

and headunit

Proper JDM unit, in half english half Jap

all tested and all in full working order, also very easy to navigate through aswell

Also got some Tbar glass panel leather bags

Picked up a spare set of tailights and a centre panel, complete with reverse lights and MR2 badge.

Seat condition, passenger outer bolster

drivers outer bolster

anyway, gave them to a mate to do a gentle refurb on them, i stated i wanted them to look aged, but smart.

drivers seat

Bought a new jack.

Started converting the jap unit to a ISO connection set up.

started to mock positions for components, like the autochanger and also routed the main power

ran the rca cables, front component wires and remote wire through the centre of the car.

ran the ecu wiring loom through into the engine bay through a grommet and wrapped with matching cable sheathing.

and seats in place

Also colour coded all the gauges etc

vid of gauges

Rear view of the gauge wiring

Bolted the dash in

Wired in a full new radio loom, 12v, SW12v, Earth, Illumination, remote

Also completed and tidied up the gauge wiring.

Tested

and illumintion dimmed

also wired the taillights to operate as a set of 4, rather than the inners being foglights

Cheers for looking
