Trd replica body kit

Post by KarlBristol »

Just wondering roughly how much a trd body kit would cost ... And how easy it would be to get hold of one? :thumleft:

About £1200 to £1800
but that doesnt garuntee fitment.
Most are badly made and will probably cost as much again in a bodyshop righting wrongs.
if your interested i have nearly a full kit going on sale shortly,
Front nosecone, front wings, and bootlid,as new never fitted,
rev 5 adjustable spoiler,as new,
sideskirts carefully removed, but will need a little work,
rear wings which were a real pain to get off and will need some work,
i dont have the rear bumper and you would need to get one.
the kit i have is a neos design one and has been offered up to the car and does fit very well.
if your interested i want £350 and needs to be collected,
if not ebay soon
cheers

Hmmm ... that does sound very tempting :-k :D
Any pictures of the kit?
Whereabouts are you based?

Finally, any idea of this would all fit in an estate car in one trip?

You then need to spend a small fortune on wheels which actually fill the now pumped guards :thumleft:

why would you? you only need wheel spacers and can fit standard wheels.

Original kit was around £5K if memory serves.

You'll need big spacers or something like ET10/ET12 to run flush.

Finding just a rear bumper on its own could prove difficult :-k

Maybe to complete the package? Why spend tons on a widebody kit to put cheap or even standard rims on it :?

Lol, I know bud... The car just isn't rare enough for me yet...

Maybe a trd kit would give me that "je ne sais quois" lol

Then again maybe id be ploughing a lot of money into it, and I'm putting off an inevitable sale as what Ive always really want is a TVR Tuscan :-k

My advice would be to stop and think what it is you want long term, either for this car or whatever you ultimately want. Once you know, plan fully and then hit the "Spend" button again. Otherwise you'll end up spending a small fortune, potentially end up with something you're not happy with and annoyed at yourself for not planning first.

Just my opinion of course and we all know I think too much

Oh, and I completely understand the urge to get a Tuscan. I almost bought one twice and it is still lingering in the back of my mind. Although this tubby will be my one and only project car. Do it once do it right

Haha, another car I nearly bought. Lovely car, not perfect by a long shot though, but certainly a car to fall in love with.

NSX Karl?

I used to Walk past an NSX everyday to work, now that us a car I'd sell my 2 for, strict production run, exclusive and AFAiK not copied by poir bodykits! Red or yellow?

I'd like a yellow and tinted NSX  Now reasonably affordable and s classic in its own rite, classic insurance too win:win

Edit: if you do decide to sell up, as much as it'll pain you, break her, you'll get much more for your TVR war fund

I regret selling my old rev5, that owed me at least £15k then sold her for £6k, plain ol stupid. Just ask Rob B, he stripped out his car and made more than the £6-7k he asked to sell her as whole!!

If I ever sell, I'll break my rev5 to recoup all I've paid for her. Lesson learned 2nd time around (if I ever sell up that is). But we all get old and our mind and heart wanders (cars that is lol), and want something either more practical or heart racing ie yours, TVR Tuscan 8)

I would want a 2nd Gen Mitsubishi GTO V6 twin turbo.

It's like an MR2 on steroids
