WARNING SSAUTOCHROME!!!!!!!

Post by Jimbob »

Just been buying in some bits from the competition to see what they are like.

These are from a well known US trader with over 98% positive feedback on ebay!

Cast and crap, not MR2 I might add cos they would be really bad if they were!

They must be cast in the same place that the tools you find in £ shops are!!

I could have cast better on my camping stove

I think you have little to fear from the "competition"

Except the fact that they have 50000 feedback or something silly and even I was fooled by the pretty photo's!

DO NOT USE SSAUTOCHROME

I have been left negative feedback even though I paid immediately after auction end! just beacuse I left neagtive feedback for his item.

QUALITY IS CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been told to stay away from these folks too unfortunately.

And I remember a post a while ago where a chap bought one of their manifolds for a 3sge, and after a couple of weeks it had a huge hole in it

May have been someone on here??

Unfortunately its easy to make things look nice in pictures.

I was amazed at the prices, but now I am hardly in amazement....well only at the lack of quality.

Thing is on my ffedback he replied that I should open my eyes to real quality!

The flange is made from a large cast lump which is sawn into little slices to make each flange!

You will find all sorts of problems with welding cast flanges mainly due to the porosity of the material you are welding too, hence the holes!

Its the problem with cheap US stuff in general!

You can't properly weld cast stainless, especially low quality castings, they put high silicone content in to improve castability. This lowers the corrosion resistance and has to be combated by increasing the nickel or the carbon content. This has the knock on effect of making the stainless more magentic and weird to weld. ( I think I got that right, so long since I did this stuff)

Generally you get what you pay for!

My mate had a tubular manifold (ss autochrome) for his 200sx and that didnt last the week.

It was cheap, but you pay for what you get. His new manifold was about twice the price but at least it lasted more than a week!

True guys, but i have to say, although eXtremeBoost lacked totally in customers support and proffesionalism, the product itself was actually quite good.
But then i'm biased!
