Toyota MR2 MK2 G-Limited

(Import) Rev3 1994 Tintop Auto.

Tax till end of Oct
MoT at least another 6 months

This car has been loved and driven frequently in between driving her 120d Coupe.

She owned it coming up to 3 years in July and has been an absolutely faultless and much enjoyed car until it met it's sudden demise on her way to Oxford over the weekend.

This car was purchased in London off a nice guy who only kept it during his short lived time in England

(work related).

The owner before him was 1 from new and was an elderly lady who babied this car with a fully stamped book from Toyota.

This car was faultless and perfect for my mum as a short to medium distance journey car in place of her more modern diesels.

My mum's final trip in the MR2 ended on the M25 when the engine just stopped running completely, after rolling into the hard shoulder she had then noticed the temp gauge bouncing at max.

I immediately drove an hour to see her at the hard shoulder

(recovery on route).

.

.

By then the engine had cooled down and I brought water along with me.

.

.

.

I emptied the gallon water can into the cooling system which had already produced a very melted and seized rad cap seal upon cap removal.

.

.

It was clear the car had dumped itself of any fluids it had.

.

.

Engine over heated and siezed.

The car was recovered home, ar$e end jacked up and water fully topped up.

The car started but struggled to and failed to idle once fired up, some blips of the throttle would eventually let it idle itself, the expansion bottle cap immediately blew itself off and produced some high pressured steam.

The car would still drive and operate as it should until the temperature gauge raised rapidly so it was time to let it rest.

The following day I had removed the oil cap to find a very milky substance which would immediately indicate headgasket failure, with the rad cap off and engine running it would push water far out into the air at every revolution.

As it stands I would deem the engine to be non repariable.

A bit of investigation showed that the rad was leaking, I think this may have leaked over time and where the water hadnt been checked for a good few months it had drained slowly.

Over the past 3 years and predominantly more recently it has had the following work done

New grooved and drilled discs and mintex pads
New drop-links all round
New handbrake cables
Genuine replacement backbox in mint condition

The car features and will include the following

Mongoose de-cat pipe

(pictured)
Crystal clear corners

(genuine toyota)
Automatic headlight activation unit

(Lights pop up and turn on in low light)
Aftermarket immobiliser
17" alloys with very very good branded tyres all round

Currently on the car and will not include

TOM'S Reno alloy wheels
Mud guards all round
CD Player

Car needs:
Air box or cone filter of some sort
Front 14mm brake caliper bolt

(took one off for my MR2 but a temp 13mm has been fitted in place)
Battery

Standard wheels or any other that will fit will be sourced and fitted prior to a definate sale.

The price will be reduced if an enthusiast decides to bring their own.

The bodywork condition of the car is shown clearly in the photos, the underside is brilliant for its age showing very little surface rust.

All marks are shown clearly

(although minimal) and the worst being the rear corner, we assume someone clipped it while it was parked up.

Theres only one very shallow dent I can speak of which sits wierdly above the drivers rear quarter glass up between the roof and the lines leading towards the spoiler.

Interior wise.

.

.

It's mint, she's a fussy clean freak.

.

.

Nuff said, the pictures show this.

All electrics works spot on and smoothly, windows, folding mirrors along with glass angle adjustment, blowers, clocks, lights etc

Mechanically barring the engine, the car drives and sounds faultless, no knocks bangs or squeeks.

The gearbox is silky smooth and will return ridiculously high MPG figures at higher speeds i.e 100mph

@ 2500RPM due to the way the gearbox works.

The brakes are sharp as a knife with no binding, the steering is free from shakes, play and sits central.

I have driven this car now and again on longer and short journeys where I needed to borrow a car hence what i've said above.

The mileage shown is in kilometers and carries on to read as so.

I've mentioned

'REPAIRS ONLY' as this car is too good shell wise to scrap or strip for parts.

We as a family would like this ideally to go to someone who will bring this gem back to life with a new heart.

Someone perhaps who knows of an engine going cheap or has one spare.

The labour costs for an engine swap is minimal compared to a head gasket change so potentially you can have a cheap car that is worth alot more.

Its hard to put a price on it but with some of the goodies that are on it to sweeten the sale

(at my expense) she is hoping to gain between

£500-£600

Feedback will be appreciated in terms of the car in general or the price.

.

.

too high, too low? or perhaps people could input important replies stating locations of good engines and who could fit them so we could piece together a running car towards the eye of a potential buyer.

Recovery can be offered to your desired location, I have fully comp AA cover.

.

.

If you know what I mean.

.

.

I just need to be with the car at the time it

'breaks down' but I dont have to be with the car on its travels.

Im sure the pictures before you will do it justice.

This car is offered on IMOC before being advertised elsewhere to some idiot to come along and buy it to strip it or offer a bag of crisps and an inevitable slap round the plum sack.

Thanks

James
