Discussion and technical advice the SW20 MR2. 3S-GTE, 3S-GE, 3S-FE etc
Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
so, the previous owner of my mr2 had all the turbo gaskets replaced, now I have found an oil leak and have been told its the oil line/returner for the turbo from the block - they may not have put it back right from what i know.
i know you can make your own braided line but is there anywhere i can get a good kit? all i can find is ebay ones which i really dont want as am not 100% about reliability.
cheers
Not worth the hassle of making a custom braided s/s type kit for a stock turbo.
Just replace the part that is leaking and fit new clips as they can weaken with age.
well the garage have said they cant see exactly where the oil is leaking from the piping so i thought it would be easier just to replace the whole lot.
im not an expert with these matters as this is my first turbo - so any help on what parts are needed to fix would be perfect. what are the 'clips'
There is one gasket at the turbo, two sealing washers at the block, and a short rubber hose at the sump (if a Rev1&2).
Should be easy enough for your garage to replace all of them if in any doubt.
