Anything to do with the electrics of the car.

If you've got nO fuel pump and no spark then you could be looking at engine speed sensor, not sure how or where the speed sensor is taken from on the engine on these but there very easy to test once found.
If you think of it as a process, ecu has to know where engine is in relation to TDC, ecu sends pulse to injectors and energises ignition coil and also switches fuel pump relay.
So working back, test for spark to distributor, if no, test for live (12V) at ignition coil, if no, test for injection pulse at any injector on cranking(disconnect a plug and connect a test light to the two pins) if it flashes on cranking then you must have a speed sensor signal. If not, then you need to locate the speed sensor, check that for resistance on cranking, should be around 400 ohms switching to open circuit rapidly, you can also check if it produces an AC voltage on cranking, should fluctuate like a sine wave around 0.5-1 volt ish

I've got my brother coming over one evening this week with his multi-meter for some more testing on what you've mentioned. And I'll update on this soon. Thank you!

But when I'm bridging TE1 and E1 in the diagnostic port and i'm getting nothing, no constant flashing, no steady flashing, no engine management light what so ever. Is this key? Bad ECU?

(If and when I diagnose this problem I will make sure I update this thread so that anyone else with a similar/same problem can follow. Google brings up so many threads on similar problems that don't get updated with the solution)

His starter works - check his post above, engine fires up.

Starter motor failure is unusual.
Quick bump; does this mean as the general part goes?
