Why are these cars never easily fixed?!
Hi guys, as you can probably tell, I'm getting fed up with this heap of sh*t.
Replaced plugs, misfire still present, replaced cap and arm, misfire still present, replaced ht leads, misfire better but still present! Am I really looking at replacing the whole ignition system just to fix a stupid little high boost misfire!??

Re: Why are these cars never easily fixed?!
where is the miss fire
? low revs high revs
?

Re: Why are these cars never easily fixed?!
Starts at 4k ish! On full acceleration.
I'm gonna have to replace the coil I think

Re: Why are these cars never easily fixed?!
I could´nt fix my high boost missfire problem.
So I went MSD.
Still works perfect passed 600hp

I've gone through the same thing.

Fitting a late igniter from a Lexus and a new coil in the morning, will let you know how it goes.
Nothing else left to replace

Re: Why are these cars never easily fixed?!
I don't think it's an ecu fault, I just think the ignition system on these are xxxx!
Re: Why are these cars never easily fixed?!
Well i've replaced:

HT Leads
Dizzy Cap
Plugs
Rotor Arm

Same probs, missfire at high rpm and idle or when damp/wet weather.

Coil pack was split, sealed with silicone, same probs.
Igniter is corroded so ordered a very clean later Lexus version.

Along with fitting the coil and igniter, I'm fitting a CT20b turbo in the morning.

Hopefully by dinner I'll have a smoke free smooth running turbo

Re: Why are these cars never easily fixed?!
New turbo??! Why? I'm certain mine has gotta be sorted by a coil.
Is the igniter the same as an amplifier?

Re: Why are these cars never easily fixed?!
Fitting a turbo because at the minute it has a CT26 fitted which has just started smoking and it's a good time to fit the correct CT20b

These are the ignition components I'm fitting, both above each other under the fuse box in the engine bay.

About
£60 for the coil and igniter.

Re: Why are these cars never easily fixed?!
Where from dude? I've found a coil for 45 quid.

Re: Why are these cars never easily fixed?!
i had misfire only in extreme rain conditions.
replaced loads but replacing the coil pack fixed it i think.

Re: Why are these cars never easily fixed?!
I had the same thing all but a month ago and it was the ignitor they crack and break down underload you can get them from camskill.

Re: Why are these cars never easily fixed?!
Found it finally! Got a tracking line on the coil on the inside where the ht lead connects, left it soaking in oil for the night, order a new on as well from camskill, probably!
