Slight whistle pushing throttle to accelerate?

Post by qazwer »

Just picked up a great T Bar today and whilst driving of the throttle is pushed to accelerate there is a slight whistle.

What would this be, I also heard a very faint rattle also. Not sure if the rattle is something lose.

Any help would be great in helping me solve these noises[/b]

does the car have a cone filter fitted to the throttle body? some types of filter can cause an induction whistle, if not it could be a loose/split vac hose or a loose inlet manifold bolt/bolts causing an air leak
Diagnosing a "rattle" with no other info is as easy as correctly predicting the lottery results for the next 3 weeks #-o

If the whistle occurs around 4000rpm or so, it's the TVIS opening. Don't worry about it.

You may hear this more if you have a cone filter on the intake.

Rattle is often attributed to the heat shield on the exhaust manifold coming loose.

Thanks for the info,

There is no cone filter fitted, will check the heat shield and exhaust manifold.

Sorry, the rattly bolt was a bit vague wasnt it
