Would also say it's turbo seals. Ours upon removal had a serious oil leak but after being rebuilt and refitted by reputable sources, the car is all dandy (except for the clutch which is another story entirely ).

Just been for a morning drive (no boost and it's not smoked)
Only a short drive, didn't get up to temp.
Does anyone recommend a turbo specialist as the one I just used was quite reputable as was the fitter.
Is there an easy test to prove definitively that it's the turbo seals?

When my car started smoking on overrun and idle...
I checked my turbo's intake, there was a light film of oil but nothing unusual.
I then checked the compressor housing and hotpipe. the turbo was dry, hotpipe had a light film of oil in it but again nothing unusual.
I then removed the B-pipe so I could see into the downpipe (3" decat) and started the car.
After about 5 mins my car started to smoke, I looked into the downpipe car still running using a high power torch and could clearly see oil dripping into it, the turbine oil seal had let go .

If it was a GTR you would need to be putting out some serious power to pull away from that

Do you mean a 350z or 370z? My friend has a 350z and its pants, don't think the 370 is hugely better either. But it does have that cool rev match thing when you change gear to help people that can't shift gear properly and accelerate quickly. 370z is about 325 bhp from factory and 350z is 300bhp.

Those white supra look the dogs, proper rude . I want some, not sure they would like right colour matched ferrari red tough.

I think the Nissan was a 350z after googling the pics.

The turbo on my Rev 3 is a CT26 with a steel shaft, no idea why it's not a CT20b

The supra wheels are definitely 17s 9.5 and 8inch

Don't want to spam with another thread, but where can I get turbo seals?

My Rev2 produces a puff of smoke on each gear change when on boost, and when slowing down for lights, so I assume it's the turbo seals.

I can't seem to find them anywhere! Where can I get them? And how hard/easy are they to fit? I'd be fairly proficient with working around cars, although new to MR2 and turbo ownership!

For the record I dont recommend doing this your self but if you do at least have the unit checked and balanced by a place like turbo technics before fitting it.

MKIV supras had 2 different brake options. The smaller standard JDM brakes fit under a 16" wheel, but the massive UK/optional JDM brakes require a larger wheel, hence there are 2 sizes.
