Right...so why measure pressure straight out of the turbo? I assume you must still have to seperately measure manifold pressure...guess it's a way of measuring pressure drop across the charge cooler / intercooler and warns you if you have a boost leak...interesting :-k

Do you have a second MAP sensor to use with it?

I'm just doing some reading to see what it would be used for. The only thing I've found so far links it to the wastegate :-k

It's for boost control. Should become apparent once you get the wastegate and solenoid plumbed in. :thumleft:

So why take your pressure line from the turbo to the waste gate instead of from the manifold? Is there an advantage?

A wastegate needs fast feedback from the turbo. Taking the boost source from as close as possible to the compressor wheel ensures the most accurate boost source possible. (Check out where the stock CT26/20 actuator gets it's boost source from).

In addition, a wastegate and it's diaphragm should not see vacuum, which it would do if the boost source was at the inlet manifold. IIRC, Tial recommends the boost source should be from before the throttle plate for the same reason.

Cheers Peter- reckon I might run a tap into my turbo while I've got it off the car :thumleft:

How's the polishing going?

You checked ebay yet, see if you can get an air line for your garage? More compressed air being blown over the engine than through it, I hear?
