Hey chaps took my car for a bit of a hard drive a few weeks ago and it started steaming and overheating in the engine bay, steam was coming out underneath the thermostat housing,
Any ideas to what it could be? Thermostat seemed to be working fine when i took it out, could it be a seal or something?

Yep, that sounds reasonable. First thing I'd look for is worn pipes or loose connections!

Yeah done all that! Guess it's just a case of trial and error checking things!

You may need to bring her up to temp first. Leaks can be very small and/or only appear under high pressure. A pin-willy hole on a black pipe, try finding one unless you see it happening or know roughly where it is!!!

Personally, I'd top up coolant and properly bleed the system first.

Coolant level was fine before hand and never had any problems with it, And no there's no wear around the pipes at all! Its below the rubber where it was steaming.
