ooohh... now i'm really scared.

Who wants to sell me a 4AGE then? I want to start the project now!

if possible try to get a later 7 rib bigport 4age, (normaly have 'red and black' writing on the inlet cam cover) they have the exact same internals as a bigport 4agze bar the pistons. to be sure of the 4age if you look at one, measure the bigends, if it 42mm then you got it. the beauty of starting with that engine is you can put in the gze pistons at a later date if you so wanted to.

What's the difference in cams between GE and GZE, anyone know?

depends on what model 4age. the early 3 rib bigport 4age cams have slightly higher lift and longer duration than the later 7 rib bigport 4age and 4agze cams.

I am understanding this right? :? Are you saying that the later GE engines have identical cams to the GZE?

yes. here's a good read, and there are some cam specs down the bottom.
http://www.club4ag.com/faq%20and%20tech ... _story.htm

from research and pulling both my 7 rib bigport 4age and 4agze apart, the early 3 rib 4age has the 7.56 lift 240 duration and the later 7 rib 4age and 4agze have the 7.1 lift and 232 duration.
i have a set of the early 3 rib cams in my box of bits, was thinking when i build another gte to use the 240 duration cam on the inlet and the 232 duration cam on the exhaust.
