Duderstadt 2012: DATES ANNOUNCED! 21/22 July 2012

Is there such a thing as a Dudesfest website so I can see what's going on and where it is etc?

Want to get an idea of what's in store

It's a very laid-back affair. The previous years have been roughly this:

Fri - Most people arrive, get tents set up, get acquainted with the walk-in beer fridge, mingle, gather round huge bonfire etc.. Evening food not provided so bring something with you.

Sat - Breakfast (provided), shine the cars, head down to Duderstadt town centre where we park up, with loads of other MR2s. Wander round, grab some lunch, then head out for a convoy drive in the beauuuutiful surrounding hills/mountains/forests. Head back to the tents in the afternoon for a HUGE BBQ (provided). Sit around the fire, drink beer (and Jaegermeister. I may not join in this bit). At some point collapse into the tent

Sun - Breakfast (provided), drive out to some services on the autobahn to say goodbye to everyone who's leaving. The afternoon has been pretty free-form and has involved watching a grand prix or eating a lot of ice cream over the past couple of years. The remains of the BBQ have appeared in the evening previously.

Mon - A bit of mooching around before heading back for the ferry. Might have to chip in a bit extra for breakfast.

I don't know if Mario/Benny etc have any different plans for this year as it's the last one, though!

We'll be staying here http://www.rotewarte.de/ It's a very friendly place, the facilities are clean and perfectly adequate and the food's great - BBQ is to die for and the breakfast is the usual bread, cheese, ham, eggs, jam etc that you find on the continent.

just need to sort out breakdown cover/travel stuff/gb sticker/high viz jackets/brown rubber safety pants/ammo/cakes of salt for native trading/immunisation shots/travel visa etc etc ....

I am looking at MR2s as we speak...there is no way I am missing it this year.

Mark and I are looking at doing a bit of a tour, going Brugges, Zandvoort for a couple of days (easy access to Amsterdam), then possibly another stop somewhere halfway to Duderstadt.

Am still working out details but we are thinking of making a week of it.

we have 1 spare little room
we wil be leaving at 7.30 in the morning and have breakfast in germany
my place is in the east of holland [ zwartsluis ]
if you think about it you must love cats because we have 5 of them indoors
otherwise you have to sleep in the garage between my 3 mr2,s and a ford capri

We have just booked our ferries.

Leaving Dover 0730hrs on Monday 16th July 2012.

Return Calais 2000hrs Monday 23rd July 2012.

Our plan is (we just need to book the hotels) is drive to Brugges on Monday. We aim to get there around lunchtime. We'll stay overnight in Brugges and sample the fine beers and all that.

Then on Tuesday we drive to Zandvoort. We'll stay there for Tuesday and Wednesday night. We'll be popping into Amsterdam for the day on Wednesday I should think.

Then come Thursday we drive over to Erik.

Friday convoy to Dudetown.

thursday you can also plan something amstrdam - zwartsluis is a 2 hour drive [ in my area are a few nice litlle towns ]
i wil be cleaning the car on thursday so when you popin on the end of the day thats soon enough
we wil have a bbq that evening

fryday we start of on the motorway and later on we go the smaller roads
i now germany wel so it wil be fun
as i say im a driver im in the south of france now [ st tropez ] cruising the little roads an having fun

Just out of interest is there a hotel at Duderstadt? I notice it was in the options. It's just if there is a hotel on site I'd be interested in that option.
