[Mk2] [NA] wheel offset info

Post by The Tron »

been searching for ages to see how i can get my new wheels to line up, they are 17" x 7" ET 40 allround, i know they are not ideal but are a cheap set until i can afford some work or volks, firstly im trying to fins out the ideal offset for 17 x 7 so i can work out the spacers i need, i just got a pair of 10mm so im guessing i can use them, the question do i stick them on the front or rear and go bigger/smaller for the other end.
cheers steve.

Wheel Offset Calculator http://mr2.gordaen.com/wt_calc.php

If you want them flush with the wheel arches you'd need a 10mm spacer on the front and a 20mm spacer on the rear.

I had 17x7 +35 and 30mm spacer on rear and they were flush. But arches were rolled. Now with 16x8 +38 and 30mm spacer. 225/45 tires, they are a bit outside, but no rubbing at all. Car is also lowered for 35mm

works a treat looks like the new wheels i got might touch the arch. ET 20 9 inch rear rim. what does the flushness mean inline with the outside or inside of the arch?

i have 8 inch et 35 atm they sit -12mm flushness new set comming 9 inch = +15 flushness.
