[Mk2] [NA] gear knob help needed

i spent ages choosing a gear knob i liked and when i finally settled on one it was the early hours of the morning, i clicked confirm then realised its a honda fitment of M10x1.5
i have contacted the seller but im not sure they will do a return even thought its not posted yet, my main question is can i get the gear knob drilled/tapped to fit my MK2 and what fitment should i be looking for ? i have done loads of searches but keep getting results for MK1 or MR2R.

Some logic here ...

MR2 fitment = bigger or smaller? (me thinking 12mm x1.25)
If it's bigger, you can drill it out a bit (tapped).
If it's smaller, you might have to go the very strong glue route.

Take the blue pill if you want to play save, and return it.
Take the red pill if you feel this is your lucky modding period.

awesome news should be pretty easy for me to drill it out to a decent size, think i might lock tight it just to be on the safe side, just trying to avoid any delays when i get home on RnR so i can put my touches to the car thanks for the help guys.
