Adding Lockwood dials

I'm thinking of ordering some lockwood dials and wondered what was the method to doing this? Do I need to remove all the needles? They state on a website that you don't need to when you apply them, but I thought you did, otherwise how do they fit. If so how is it best to remove the needles and fit the dials?

Has anyone done this?

You have to take the clocks out on some cars. But you don't need to remove the needles. You slid the needle in through the middle hole and then it just fits neatly over the needles base.
removing needles is dodgy due to it being a delicate operation, it's very easy to get it wrong and damage the delicate speedo pin.

I have seen two sets of lockwood white dials go for over the price on Ebay than what Lockwood sells them for on their site.

Go direct to website and order off there.

I know this may sound like a stupid question but why did the Lockwood dials look bad compared with the speedhut ones, is it because they didn't glow or was it the over all quality and look in the daylight and night was alot better. The Speedhut ones are nearly twice the price do you feel it was worth it?:-k

To fit the speedhut dials is the same as the Lockwoods?

lockwood dials are a good, white dial that look good in the day but when backlit are very blotchy with your stock lights. I had to install extra backlights at certain points behind the dials. The result was brilliant. Ill send some pics if you guys want. I know with the luminescent dials, they have a much more even backlight if you are willing to pay the extra. hth

The night time view of the lockwoods was terrible, blotchy just about sums it up. Looked ok in the day, but once you see a set of speedhut ones at night, there is no comparrison, they are easily worth the extra money and you can put whatever design you want on there. I actually went for the black reverse el glow to keep it looking stock...............until the night times that is!
