recomend insurance company ??

Post by Grant »

HI,
I have been with elephant for a few years now but they want to up my premium by nearly £200 as i have 3 points on my licence.

So i am going to change companys.. but ideally want a company that cover modded cars as i have front, rear bumper, skirts etc...

can anyone recommend some decent and cheap companies?

Thanks
Grant

I'd go Direct Line mate. Im driving a MR2 Turbo at the mo - ive just got rid of 9 points and i was paying £690 fully comp, they also through in free breakdown cover which i upgraded for £20 to cover all europe and get all the add ons like free cover car etc.

There just professional about everything + they send you out your documents asap so you dont go to tax your car only to find they havn't sent you a bloody certificate of motor insurance!

Happy hunting

Cheers

When I first got my points I was with Direct Line, called them to renew and advise of my points and it came down £10!! Even the guy on the other end was laughing! However a year later it went up so I went to Sainsburys.
Looking at all the insurance posts over the last few years I would say its luck to get a really good quote. Best thing I would suggest is getting on the phone or net and trying evryone you can think of!

Good luck :)

How old were you Matt when you went to renew?

Ive just gone 25 so thats prob why its dropped quiet significantly. As far as body mods go the cars standard at the mo so it should be fun when i start to mod it to the high heavens.

Cheers :D

MMMM Not too sure. Mines standard as I can never decide what I like, I change my mind every week so I end up never really doing anything!! #-o

I was 26 when I got my points, however I asked about the insurance when I was 25 and it was over a grand for a N/A! I put my purchase off for six months and still ended up with the exact car that I had looked at!! My insurance then came down to about £500! Im paying £450 with protected NCD and £250 excess. That was the best quote I had from about 30 companies. Insurance quotes seem to be like roulette!!

Grant, if you get a major deal let me know as its coming round to renewel time for me in the next couple of months!
