Rev 4 G-Limited (Tin Top) - £500

Post by Rosssco »

1996 P-Reg, Rev 4, G-Limited. Tintop

For sale is my Rev 4 N/A which is used as my daily driver, and has been very reliable in the past ~5 years of owning it. Mileage: ~122k

Partial Service History – I have serviced the car my self in recent years (don’t trust many local garages!) with only suspension alignment done by garages for obvious reasons. Oil / filter changes every 5-6k miles. Oil and filter and air filter will be changed prior to sale. Brake fluid replaced a couple of months back.

Mot: 6 months
Tax: 2 months
Colour: Sonic Shadow

Modifications:
Drilled / grooved discs
EBC Green stuff pads
Braided brakes hoses
Enkei RP-01 Light weight wheels:
16x7" Et35 / 16x8" ET38 (structurally sound, just need a paint refurb)
Tyres:
205/45/16 Eagle F1 - Front (~4mm)
225/45/16 Khumo KU31 (~3.5mm)

Not so good bits:
The car was suffering from corrosion to the bottom of the drivers door. However, the sills have now started to bubble allong the underside, and one of the front wings has a few spots of rust appearing. I do regularly jack the car up on the sills, and so far they appear to be structurally sound, so I'm unsure if the corrosion is internal or external in origin.

I previously painted the black rubbing strips on the side of the car. This was fine initially, but now looks more grey than silver! Fine from a distance, but close up its a bit obvious. Other than that, a few minor pin dents and scratches, although nothing major here either, and totally representative of the 15 years this car has under its belt! The car has never been bumped or damaged by me, and no evidence of this ever having happened, so totally straight in that respect.

The Aircon doesn’t work, as the pump bearing went a couple of years ago, so I simply removed the drive belt. All the hard ware is there, and aircon pumps are available cheap. The electric aerial is intermittentt in operation.

The gearbox shifts / selects gears fine, although has a bit of a whine. Its not excessivly bad (and not unusual), and sounds like the clutch release bearing, although the clutch operation is ok.

I have noted the front drivers tyre is worn on the edges. Still ok to use, but dosn't have lots of life left.

Overall she drives well, but probably more suited to a clean up and use as a fun daily driver or a track car.

Price: £500 ovno

Thought I'd give this a wee bump before I look at returning some of the parts to standard and selling separately.

Thanks,
Ross

Might be interested in it for parts if you took off any modified bits and dropped the price... In need of a silver front bumper and rev5 wheels, so would buy a whole car if the price was right (don't need any of the modifications).

Hi Ross

I'd stick to your guns on that price. £1200 for a car that has if you were to do it yourself £1000 worth of the best roadgoing suspension you can get for the Mk2.

If I wasn't right in the process of buying a house and you could hang on for 6 weeks I'd bite your arm off (been serious too)

Hi, sorry folks havent been on here in a while.

I'm going to hold onto it right at the moment until I try a few other potential replacements and decide whats what..

A few recent drives on Highland roads are making it difficult to part with!

Cheers,
Ross

That car is easily worth £1000+. Don't break it mate, too nice a motor. Just wrong time of year to be selling a rwd sports car.
