Dual Fillament rear bulb LED's?...

Post by riot68 »

Can find loads of places that sell direct replacement LED bulbs for the rear lights, however what's the score when you need to replace one of the bulbs that has a dual filament for tail light / brake light?...

Also, while I was on ultraleds, thought I'd see how much to kit out the rear lights in LEDs......

4 stop/tail LEDs
2 White LEDs
2 yellow LEDs

The price?

£100 exc. carriage :pale:

hmmmmm, think I'll stick to filament :mrgreen:

Ouch, maybe stay stock too, although have all but these in my Civic so might go for some just for that...

£33 just for 4 LED stop/tail LEDs. Bit more reasonable, and a better option I reckon, reverse lights and indicators leave as filament :mrgreen:

Just an update, don't know other folks experience, however the LED bulbs in my Civic made the indicators flash fast so had to change back, heard of weird stuff happening on Accords too, so maybe best to stay stock...

You just need an LED relay like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fix-LED-Flash ... 1e68b599b5 which is what I put on my 2, the only problem is no LED bulbs are E approved as Osram told us last month.

Yep. Even the "multi-type" LEDs don't seem to fill the lenses with an even amount of light. For best results, stick with old fashioned bulbs :thumleft:

I literately just finished putting these into my car;

These are dual colour bulbs (white parking lights and amber indicators) on the front of my 2. I put the two resistors on also to stop the indicator hyper flashing. Great job and you can get them for the rear also.

MOT failure in the UK. Sidelights and indicators have to be separate lamps.

Which is how they must be :thumleft:
