[Mk2] [Turbo] Lowering springs

Hi all i no this has been asked million of times before, I am looking at getting some lowering springs for my rev 3 this week, i would be running them on standard shocks. What ones would be recommended? I have looked at Tein Or Apex ones. Which are better as in ride hight and stiffness.

No one set of springs are "better". Depends what you want.

IMHO, Eibach ProLine are great for UK roads.

Thank for the quick reply, well mainly road use down in Devon and maybe the odd track day if I have chance. i just dont want a really hard ride tbh.
Wheres the best place to get them aswell?

Dan at DCDezign normally has a price promise and A1 service.

Eibachs are 20% uprated, 25mm lowered, and progressive rate. Firm but never harsh.

Eibachs are the ones to go with, I just bought a set of Teins and they are too low and hard for our roads, Eibachs will be perfect. I'll be getting a set soon.

Awesome will take a look at them., Any had any experience with the makes like spax, koni ect there seems to be loads available for the mr2.

Be aware that you're unlikely to see much drop from 14-17yr old springs if you go for something offering only an inch or so of drop. They've probably sagged a bit over the years. Also a lot of the quoted drops are from the rev1 height which was higher anyway than a rev3 measurement...

PS I've been on the Teins with yellow billies for 3 and a half years and whilst at slow speeds the ride is undeniably V firm it's not bad once pushing on and the lack of any noticeable roll does make a heck of a difference when you reach the twistys but they're not to be recommended for use with standard shocks.

I have apex springs on my Rev3 turbo with standard shocks. They are harder than the eibach l did have but much prefere the lower ride height.30mm btw.

If you have to keep original struts my choice would be the Eibachs to compliment them best and stress them least. No direct experience of this though. Anyone running either spring with standard struts who could give a ride?

I was running weitec -35mm with standard schock, but I think my shocks were not in a good condition. Then I bough koni yellows and ride quality changed so much! Then I went with the same springs and Ohlins shocks and it was better than weitec+koni, but unfortunately my one of front ohlins died...

Well, I bought them from my friend who got them from local performance shop. Shop imports them from Germany, as I remember.

They are progressive, but don't know about rates. I remember that more or less the same to tein s-tech or maybe a bit stiffer. Value for price, I think

Finally got round to getting my Apex springs on the MR2, very impressed they lowered the car just right and the ride isnt to bumpy at all. See what they are like on the track next week
