rev2 tubby mpg

Post by vtecpower »

ey people just wondering if my tubby is returning good mpg.. i filled it up to the first "click" drove 7 miles switched car off for a couple of hours.. then drove far 89 miles so 96 miles in total the 89 miles was motorway but as it rained heavily earlier so was driving at 40 mph ! and then there was 50 mph speed restriction ](*,) then we get to the national speed limit ... boosted a few times! look at the guage ! :thumleft:

im really tempted to go to a petrol station and fill up to the first click to see how many litres i have gone threw...

for anyone wondering or thinking why is this guy talking about mpg its because i havent had my recirc on (on a long drive) for ages i usually have my HKS BOV and the mpg increase has got me a little happy

The MR2 fuel gauge is far from good. My car would take AGES to get to half tank, and then just drop

Same with most cars..

Same for me, just from the top it fells quickly and from the half in just a moment! Of course i don't like it as I have too bad mpg.

You need to fill up, reset clock, drive, fill up, work it out.

You can afford to fill it up :pale:

I think I've only ever filled mine once think that was 2 years ago now never mind the current petrol prices, Also don't think mine ever managed above 28mpg :-$

Good job I prefer to just look at mine  8)

My fuel gauge don't even get to the full point only ever goes up 3/4 of the way I can then do 100 miles and it says empty but when I fill up it only needs £20 in it and it clicks to say it full,

Does my head in

100miles for a quarter of a tank, that's pretty damn good. I get 250 to a full tank, and i drive like a snail to work and back, because why speed to work.

I always get loads of miles to the first quarter, then less and less for each consecutive quarter.

Ends up around 240 to a tank on my a/b road commute which is 24-26mpg

Most I've ever got from a tank was 320, all motorway. Worked out to 32ish MPG.

Granted mine's a Rev3, but you shouldnt expect great MPG from a 20yr old 2 litre turbo :)
