engine overheating

Post by xtremepix »

hey guys, my 1991 rev 1 NA has started overheating since I did a taster track session. Ive topped water up and pressure holds, ive also bled the system. Seems to overheat on idol, then when running 50mph+ she sits with the temp about half way up the gauge, and i can rev as high as i like. Ive just tried running with the fan on, and she still overheads.
Loosened the coolant cap, and steam everywhere, aswell as the sound of boiling water.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should start?

Many thanks
James

Just had a mechanic friend have a look over it. Seems the radiator has blown (which the previous owner had bodged with k seal) dropping coolant and letting air in.

I just really hope thats the end of the problem. Anyone got a reccomendation of where to buy a radiator at a good price? :-D
