The reason for the different power ratings is that a turbo will generate different power levels on different cars :D That applies to different 2 liter turbo cars as well as obviously different displacement engines.

No doubt JJ will chime in on his turbo - basically its a T04R HKS signature turbo .... check out www.to4r.com - its big :D
Small turbos - they're not big and they're not clever!

Just say NO to small turbos!

Thats one big turbo.

So I'd be right in guessing that the Fensport site is more accurate as they are pretty handy with the 3S-GTE/ used it quite a few times etc

Fensport might have a 2.2 stroker Kit. 1000cc Injectors, Larger Throttle Body etc etc.

Where can I get a larger throttle body from? Is it a worth while mod ?

Rev 3 TB is larger than a rev 1/2 so I say stick with it as it is.

I'm upgrading mine to a rev 3 one on my new intake manifold. After that your looking at the 70mm US ford ones and stuff.

Cheers steve. Man you've done your research!

another quickie!
Is it advisable to gut the TVIS? Can you explain what it does exactly? Where its located?

Gutting the TVIS - I'd say yes its worth doing when you're looking at 300hp+. As you have a rev 3 you dont have a TVIS :)

TVIS - was basically toyota's variable induction system. The rev 1/2's have two channels per intake runner on the intake manifold. On one of the channels per runner is a butterfly valve, this is closed as low rpm (so only one channel is being used) to keep the air velocity into the cylinder head higher. Once it got passed about 4k rpm the second valve would open to allow more air in. Basically it was designed to help low end responsiveness as the intake ports are larger on the rev 1/2 cars than the rev 3's.

I'll not be limited with turbos ever again. Just hope the rest of it holds together !! :D

Might take till next tuesday to spool up, but when it does spool up... everything should go blurry which is kinda what I'm after.... uncontrollable !

Larger Throttle bodies are better as they allow more air flow into them. But you only need a larger throttle body if your IC pipes are larger in diameter than the throttle body itself.

Cheers. Will bare that in mind. Im going for an Apexi ic not sure if the pipes are bigger then the tb but I doubt it. I will consider Relocating it to the other side like Andy F though :D
