[Mk2] [Turbo] Not Pacificworks pukka prototype...

Post by djpkins »

In light of Luke good work developing his own airbox...I thought I'd sort mine out as it had been trimmed down and needed fixing...I have the AFM to navigate , but essentially the same sort of thing.

I needed some material and saw this old, unused sign that was just lying around outside some dissused pothole...next to where the local kids play.

I made a cardboard template of what I thought would work...

Transfered it on to the sign...and cut it out using tin snips...

After scoring the fold lines with a stanley blade, it folded up like paper...

...and then just a case of drilling a few holes and securing to the car.

Impressive work :thumleft:

I guess the logic behind these types of designs is to isolate the heat generated by the engine, from the air intake? Funnelling the air too, to maximise what goes into the intake?

that one looks stronger than mine...I didn't really use that sign...I used the side of an old fridge :thumleft: took an hour, tops...actually took longer to fix the turbo hose that I mashed taking off. #-o makes perfect sense to keep the hot engine air away from the intake, and I do believe it sounds a quieter in the cab.
