[Mk2] [NA] mr2 rev 3 n/a electric problems

Post by farnboy »

I have a friend who has nice yellow mr2 n/a rev 3 having trouble with the electrics the car will start but no dash lights before starting the car also no side lights, brake lights, indicator lights. head lights do work and the hazards as well checked the box no blown fuses. did say that the round thing with two wires attached to it by the fuse box was buzzing a lot not sure what it is. Can anyone shine some light on this or point me to the right thread similar ??

have you tried checking the ecu codes (never know)

it does sound like there is some wiring damage somewhere thats causing the problem.

I'm sure someone thats had a similar issue will help out

good luck

You checked all fuses, there is a fuse box in the engine bay, front trunk, and in the driver side footwell to the right.

could have knocked the clip slightly out of that fuse box in the footwell somehow (strange but might happen for some reason), its just a bit behind the frunk release.

have a torch handy and check around that area.

make sure all the relays in the boxes are ok too, think a few whole sets are on ebay for £15 atm.

:D
