[Mk2] [NA] What antifreeze, blue or orange???

The question is all in the title really, but I've never seen my coolant so I was just kinda like wondering

if you are completely draining and refilling you'd need 3 bottles of it..

not to badly priced really in my opinon

You need an Ethylene Glycol based anti freeze, which is normally blue...or Toyota for life.

I use standard blue antifreeze from a motor factors- a hell of a lot cheaper than the Toyota stuff

Avoid pre-mixed stuff. That is unless you can fully drain the entire system including heater channels. I've never been able to drain more than 11lts. therefore putting in the pre-mixed stuff will slightly dilute it further. Not wise.

Same, my antifreeze is ethylene glycol based but with longer life which isnt blue but orangey/pink colour. Once diluted it obviously wont stay orange/pink but more yellowish/orange so I wouldn worry if its been looked after.

Thanks I thought it was the blue stuff but I've not seen or used the ready mixed I've always used the neat stuff I'll mix it two thirds anti freeze to one third water that should compensate for the one third coolant I can't get out

Halfords do a 5 year eth glycol coolant. It's good, third of the price of Toyota coolant, which is actually called longlife.
