Chris Booker - Wheel refurbisher - Dartford

Post by CardHore »

Just a kind comment to Chris Booker who spent a week refurbishing a set of wheels I bought off ebay in a tragic state. They are the real deal MazdaSpeed MS-01 Le-Mans edition wheels in a very rare 18" form. They are 16yrs old and had never seen a lick of paint. Chris does wheel refurbs for a living and has done so for a long time. He's fully mobile as well. I bumped into him ages ago and always kept his number for when the time came that I needed a set of wheels made to look reem...

So the time came...

He does his work completely by hand and carried out at an unbelievable price. He lives in the Dartford area but he is mobile so I assume would be willing to travel within a reasonable distance.

His number is 07714601651

Thought this would deffo be of use to those who live in the surrounding areas of Dartford.

Cheers :thumleft:

Marf, been quoted 360 for mine, same wheels as yours...FYI. Don't think that includes repairs- so quite costly.

Just been quoted similar, less for painting the rims chrome silver rather than polishing them which is probably what I'd go for as the car's a daily and I don't fancy being out there every weekend getting the shine back.

TBH compared to some of the quotes I've had the prices arent bad, the polished price especially.

The cheapest I'd been quoted for painting the rims is 50 more than Chris' price, and for polished he's about a hundred less than the quotes I've had.

I will stress he did remove any kerbing and other large nicks in the dish. Theyre almost invisible. He does it all completely by hand and the process of unbolting the rims is very mundane... 35 bolts per wheel. All of them were put back together and retorqued to the correct figure as well. The wheels i gave him were a complete state as well... Pitted to xxxx!

Here we go. Orange looks a bit pale in these pics but its deeper in person :)

I'm pleased with them, now just need to polish up the bolts and get some tyres fitted.
