Just picked up my new car!

Post by CJ »

Just got home after a very long day out and I have to say I am delighted with the new purchase.

I had bought the car blind and as you well know, there are many people out there who could quite easily make anything sound a lot better than it is but in the case of this seller he was 100% honest.

The bodywork is as good as it looks in the pics (probably better as the red really is a great deep colour) and the inside of the car is spotless too. I picked up all the receipts and service history and you can easily see by looking at them and the condition of the car that it has been well looked after.

And so to the drive home. I had to go from Liverpool to past Chester first to pick up a PC that Josh had bought (another great buy and a bargain) and then back down the M6 to Wales. All the way the car never missed a beat. Very responsive engine if you use the revs and the gearbox is a delight.

As you can tell I I am very pleased indeed.

Congrats :) - pleased that its worked out for you. Sounds like a bargain!!

So what is first on the list of things to do to it then?

Mine needs to come out of the garage for a damn good clean! lol

The basics first my friend.

It is going to my local mechanic on Wednesday to have a full service and put up on the ramps to have a look around at the suspension, links, arb etc.. I can then decide what nees doing as a matter of maintenance before the modding bug kicks in.

I guarantee that it won't be too long before the modding bug hits! lol. I've started to do a fair bit on mine since buying it. Heres my build thread:

If there are any parts that I've replaced that you also want to do then give me a shout. More than happy to send you links for some great bargains I've found :thumleft:

If your near Bristol and fancy comparing cars, need some advice, or want to go for a drive then give me a shout and pop over

Just happy that the blind purchase worked out :thumleft:

Thank you very much for the offer my friend. I am sure I will take you up on getting together quite soon as I would love to pick your brains - plus a little run to Bristol appeals too

Thank you very much.

The only thing I have found that isn't working so far is the cigar lighter. :)

I agree. Never have - never will. But the Sat Nav needs it as my sense of direction is pretty shocking :D
