What would be the best brand of clutch to use on a Turbo 300 bhp?

I thought the oem clutch was just about at it's limits at 300bhp? If so it could be a good idea to get something a bit meatier, it will also allow for future power upgrades.

Running 300hp just fine here on a stock clutch. If you want something that will take more power just look to find something that uses an OEM organic centre and has an upgraded pressure plate.

We should really be talking in terms of torque here rather than BHP, but assuming you're looking for something with extended duty then I have nothing but praise for the Exedy 3 paddle cerametallic clutch. We use them in 300bhp / 290lb/ft MR2 Turbo race cars and also in my 324rwhp / 311lb/ft Supercharged V6 endurance race car. Never had a failure and not yet had to replace one due to wear!

If there's one thing that they don't like though, it's being slipped. Wouldn't be top of my list for road use.

It is for road use, cos at the moment on motorways, if I want to overtake it slips on boost, but fine otherwise...

Ive read the exedy stage 1 is rated to 280 ftlbs. so the standard one must be a fair bit less?

Go Toyotas own for normal power plus a bit,
after that your looking at spending big on something decent
but will lose something in the driveability bracket.
I have a Blitz twin plate and it rattles like a tin of coffee beans,
grips fine though.

A good clutch. Nothing too fancy and nothing too expensive.
Just one which does the job.

Ive used a std clutch for 5yrs running 300hp and 295 ftlbs it wont take a 6000rpm launch but im in a gt4 so it wont spin the tyres in a mr2 it would cope better i would feel...

The helix standard is very good also! Also has a better torque rating than the oem clutch iirc
