Morethan Insurance

Post by Steve-O 2007 »

Load of crap!!!!!!

My mum went to reinsure a Micra with me as a named driver but they said they could no longer have me as a named driver, dont know why I was 23 at the time driving a modified MR2 turbo... Anyway just said fine we will go with someone else..

few days later a call back saying why arent you reinsuring with us? told them and they said they would sort it and it was fine £190 for us both so went for it. week later no policy, called they said its on way, another week no policy, called they said ones on its way, still no policy, called they said they were having problems with all the policys and getting them out to people. another 2 weeks nothing, another month nothing. Ended up taxing it online which worked so must have been insured. Gave in on calls to them for the documents as got records of about 20 calls to them for them.

anyway comes to renewal but no renewal letter, phone them and they say we have no records of you being insured!!! they phone us back and say you canceled your insurance 6 months ago!!???!!!!! WTF no we didnt... My mums on the phone for ages with them going through all the phone call notes we have and then the morethan woman has the cheeck to say "Oh you still owe us £77 cancelation fee" WE DIDNT CANCEL IT!!!.

Get put through to a manager who said hes been listening in to the call and agreed that it was there fault. My mum says so weve been driving the car for 6 months un insured on 200 mile trips? He said yea its a good job you didnt have and accident!!!

Never using them again...

I cant think of one time with any insurance company that I have EVER been with, that I have not had problems or had to make chasing phonecalls. They are all a pain in the ar$e. That does sound particularly bad though! Always depends who you talk to aswell and if they give a damn about sorting things properly, it`s amazing how one employee you speak to screws everything up and then another is massively helpful.

yea the worst part is the asian call centres etc that most insurance companies use eg in india etc thats usually how things get messed up (not being racist or anything but Its near impossible to talk to some of them, Ive put the phone down before after about 10 attempts at spelling a postcode out...)

You would have had no issue whatsoever on the basis that the contract had been accepted by both parties on the basis that you paid for the goods, i.e. the premium had been paid. However, the call centre attitude of insurers is a major, major cause for concern and is currently under governmental review.
