& invoices.
OVERVIEW

The car is in very good condition for a 1995 car.

She has some age related marks to her bodywork, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Regularly clay bared, washed

& polished using Maguires cleaning products.

She has been very well maintained

& cared for.

She is completely standard having 170 bhp.

(bar a K&N air filter which was on her when I bought her in 2008).

This is an un-thrashed example.

There are many MR2's about for sale

& some are complete buckets.

I looked long

& hard for a good, well cared for, original example

& I found this car up in Leicester.

I went to see many MR2s before this one

& none of them came up to my standards.

Im used to owning

& maintaining Toyota cars

& after selling my Toyota Celica GT4 ST205 I wanted something as equally reliable as a Toyota

& looked at many other makes of car, but returned to Toyota

& chose the MR2.

Being driven by the rear wheels

& having the engine mid mounted

& right behind you for optimum weight distribution

& balance, it is a great drivers car

& inspires confident driving.
ENGINE, CLUTCH, GEARBOX, SUSPENSION

There are no unusual noises or knocking coming from engine, clutch or gearbox.

She doesnt use any oil or coolant/water

& has no leaks that I can see

(no tell tale marks on the driveway of engine leaks).

Gearbox is tight

& firm

& clutch is also good.

No leaks or knocking noises from the suspension.

Ride is comfortable, but firm

& she handles very nicely.

Suspension is standard

& not lowered or messed around with.

K&N air filter was fitted to car already when I bought her which makes a nice raspy noise when planting your foot to the floor.
EXTERIOR

Wheel arches are in good shape.

Bottoms of doors

& seals are also in good condition.

No leaking from windows or sunroof.

There are some age related marks to the bodywork as to be expected from a car of this age, but nothing major.

There is a very, very small patch of paint bubbling up at the very rear of the passenger sill, you can hardly see it, but thought I'd mention it.

I do have a set of clear OEM front lenses for the car, but have not fitted them yet.

These clear lenses will be included with the sale of the car.
INTERIOR

Interior is in very good condition.

No rips or holes in seats.

Seat bolsters are in very good condition

(I make a point of lifting myself out the seat instead of rolling over the bolsters).

The steering wheel

& gear knob does have slight signs of wear, but thats to be expected with the mileage of the car,

& indicates that the mileage is genuine.

There are slight scratches to the surface of the glove box.

Apart from these minor points, all is good.

No vibrations, knocks or unusual noises.

All electrics/lights work as they should

& dash lights all working.
SERVICE HISTORY
& DOCUMENTATION

Full documented service history by Toyota main dealer

& independent garages.

I have an A4 binder bursting with invoices

& receipts to back up all services

& work carried out on her.

I have owned my MR2 since 04-02-2008

& bought her with 87000 miles on the clock.

Only 5 former keepers.

HPI clear, I have the check I did myself from when I bought her.

Cam belt changed at 63997 miles.

New front tyres at beginning of this year

& new rear tyres fitted on 25-17-2011

Standard Toyota stereo will be replaced as I will be taking my JL audio stereo out of the car.

The doors are fitted with Dynamat to enhance the sound system acoustics

& to reduce the horrible metal vibration that speakers can sometimes produce.

The Dynamat also reduces road noise at the same time.

Anyone whos into car audio will know that this is the very first thing to do when installing your system.

I have every single MOT slip from her first MOT, right up to her current MOT.
MOT
& mileage history:

14-08-2001: 43612 miles

11-07-2002: 49550 miles

09-07-2003: 55998 miles

05-07-2004: 63053 miles

22-07-2005: 66945 miles

29-07-2006: 73468 miles

27-07-2007: 80727 miles

21-08-2008: 90171 miles

20-08-2009: 95335 miles

17-08-2010: 101226 miles

11-08-2011: 107550 miles

During my ownership, 3 of the brake calipers have been exchanged for new ones.

New brake pads, new front discs, a faulty lambda sensor replaced, new handbrake cables

& drop links replaced, new HT leads, new battery.

All documented within the service history paperwork.

The most recent replaced item was the alternator

& belt at a cost of

£188

(common faulty items on MR2's as water can drip down

& into the alternator)

& I also serviced her this weekend just gone

(oil

& filter).

She did fail the last MOT

(just being honest).

But this was only due to a brake imbalance on the front brakes.

This was rectified on the same day by re greasing the calliper sliders

& all is fine.

No other advisories.

I use the car to drive to work

& back,

(20 mile round trip)

& normally drive to get as much fuel out of the tank as possible.

She very rarely gets a spanking as I have a Honda CBR 600RR to use as my pocket rocket toy.

When she does get given some right foot action, she does pull strongly throughout all the gears

& sounds very nice with the K&N air filter.

I want to sell the MR2 for a few reasons.

One being I want a more practical car, something like a 2001 onwards Honda Civic 1.6 Sport.

I have also recently participated in a track day on my bike

& loved it so much that I would now like a dedicated track bike, so would like something to tow a trailer, some room for extra passengers

& to be able to chuck all my bike gear in the back.

I have also recently bought a mountain bike,

& again, would like to chuck the MTB in the back of the car

& drive off to a few MTB trails

& routes around where I live.

If it wasnt for these reasons, Id be keeping her as shes been ultra reliable

& a true example of the Toyota marque.

The online forums are a great resource for information, plus you dont see MR2s on the road every day, so when you do see another one, its lights up

& a quick flash

& a wave lol.

I have looked on AutoTrader, Ebay, Pistonheads etc for what the same year, similar mileage

& similar condition MR2s are priced at, so I am looking for

£1500 or best offer for my MR2.

I am open to any offer you may wish to offer me, so please make that offer, I may well accept it.

She will be washed

& hoovered for her next owner.

If interested, please come

& view the car.

I always like to view a car before buying so urge you to do the same with mine.

Test drives are welcome

& encouraged, but test pilots

& tyre kickers can go test someone else's car.

Proof of insurance

& a deposit of

£1500 in my hand before you get behind the wheel, or I'll be driving you around for your test drive.

Thanks for taking the time to read my advert.

Please contact me with any questions you may have

& I'll be happy to answer them.

If you would like to see specific pictures of the MR2, please ask

& I'll be happy to take them for you.

This is a cash only sale, thanks for looking
