Lift rear of car in air, with it in neutral turn one of the wheels by hand. If the other wheel turns the same way then LSD, if it turns the other way no LSD.
If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.

If it is a rev 3 turbo then it will have a LSD. It was an option on earlier revisions and standard equipment on rev 3+ turbos.

Also the spec sounds like a GT-S model not a GT :-k

GT has all the toys and is a little bit heavier.

GT-S is the lighter less equiped model.

You can check the VIN plate in the frunk to see if you have a LSD as per http://www.btinternet.com/~netsurf/mr2t ... _Slip_diff

For the differences between a GT and GT-S model see here http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=96525

If you need to know anything else then the search function is a good place to start just make sure you select "Search for all terms" or it will return 1000's of results.

Hope this helps :thumleft:

I'm not so sure if any reference will be good apart from the information from the dealer about a specific car. Not to mention what bits were changed by the previous owners.
Mine is a GT-S, but has no LSD, no retracting mirrors, but has steering fogs.
Current: 2007 Porsche Cayman S
Gone: '94 rev3 NA, '92 rev2 Turbo forged, '07 Civic Type-R

hi exactly i mean the car has induction kit and aftermarket s/w and rims apart from that looks standard although the last owner had it for approx 6 years said the only thing they changed was alloys and yellow fogs to clear :( ..

Thanks for the vin references ill do a check and gues the only way is to take it a quick drive and see if she drives like my uk rev 5 with lsd as standard .. :thumleft:

I have a rev 2 GT turbo (I also am a Toyota tech) the gt was the top of the range mine came with mirror closure, steering fogs , 8 speaker stereo system as standard, (mine also had a AM aerial in the screen this may have been on all models not shore) alcanterre trimmed centre door cards, thick floor carpet, mine also came with an LSD (option) as an option you could also have a steering wheel air bag, the weight was about the same on a GTS ( the main weight difference was the T-bar vehicles weighed more than non)the GTS had less on it not to just to save weight but to make the car cheaper to buy than the GT :thumleft:

Yellow fog lights only came on revision 1 cars, so odd that they would have been fitted to a rev 3.

The n/a cars had a torsen lsd, the turbo cars had a viscous lsd so it should feel different.

I think some people fitted the yellow rev1 fogs because they prefer the look over rev2 onward White :-k
I have also seen in the past with me friend Bry on here at an mr2 meet there was rev 1 but was actually registered as a rev4 which was odd

They were an option from revision 4 and definitely standard for at least the last six months of production.

hi many thanks yes my rev 5 has lsd as standard and the turbo did feel different but its been sold on for parts to an mr2 collector last night , i didnt have time for turbo conversion so past it on at cost price .

As for yellows yep i think the car had some basic wee up and down grades , was nice car but i got it cheap price to good to turn down.
