electrical conections please help!

Post by mr2dave »

just put my engine in and have a few conectors i dn't know where the came from

the conector is black, sits around the manifold, where the loom goes into the boot for the ecu

](*,)

Image

this is 2 wires by the alternator, i asume the one with the rubber goes onto the alternator but not shure about the other one!

Image

the last conector is the back left of the engine bay, on quite a long wire

Image

its a rev1 n/a engine, any help would be awsome!!!!!!!

That last pic looks like the engine bay temp sensor plug, that plugs into the sensor on the engine lid :-k

Pic1
Looks like the speedo sensor but you say its a REV1 so can't be :-k Unless you have had a REV2 engine put in it before you purchased the car then this will fit on the sensor on the gearbox towards the rear firewall.

Pic2
The rubber one goes to the alteraner as you assume. I can't see another wire in the pihot but if it a single wire then it could be the earth lead that attaches to the inlet mainofold

Pic3
As RedMR² stated or it's the one that goes into the sensor in the air filter rubber tube

pic 3, makes alot of sense if thats the temp sensor, ( feel an idiot for looking round for the other end!) lol

pic 1, don't think it could be the speedo as is to small to reach if i remeber rightly it just on a short wire out of the main loom, as if the should be a wire coming to it (if that makes sense?) but have surched high and low and can't seem to see one.

pic 2, that could work, think it could be the right length to reach up to the mainfold.

will have a go tomorrow, cheers for your help!

Pic 1 is either the coil or ignitor connector

Hey mate I have a rev1 NA with an original engine which has never been removed.

I'm only in Bristol and I've got Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon off of work
I could always pop round so you could see where it all goes if you want?

Well Im a response police officer security cleared to SC level

If you had a work with your commanding officer they may be more inclined to let me in as I've already done all the checks, etc... and always have my warrant card handy.

Where abouts is the camp as you say Plymouth and Gloucester in your location.

If you give me your email addy I can take lots of photos of my engine bay and send them onto you in the first instance if that would help?
